My son Bailey asked me if I wanted to go to an Art Gallery with him today to meet May Pang. Last year I saw a May Pang book at a yard sale and gave it to him. He enjoyed the book and then got her new book of photographs she took of John Lennon, Keith Moon, George Harrison, Elton John, Bowie, Ringo, Paul McCartney (John and Paul last one together), Harry Nilsson, and more that she met when John and she were together in 1973-1975.
John left Yoko in 1973 to start his 18-month “lost weekend” with May Pang. She had access to a new world. Pang has a documentary out right now on their relationship. It’s called “The Lost Weekend…A Love Story.” Lennon talked to May Pang up until he was murdered. From what others have said…John thought about staying with Pang.
Bailey had some questions for her so he talked to her and got a picture taken…she was extremely nice to us. We couldn’t take any pictures of the photos on display.
Anyway, it was pretty cool to be there. The only person I met who was connected with the Beatles was an actual ex-Beatle…Pete Best.
Here are a few of the pictures that were on display. They also had some with the rest of the Beatles, Nilsson, and a few others. Also…John’s hand-signing the document that dissolved The Beatles in 1974 at Disney World.

Meeting history.
It really was…some major pop culture history there. Poor Bailey could hardly talk because he was so nervous….she saw that and treated him great and they had a good conversation.
It’s great when people with a name don’t act like divas. Sounds like Bailey is a bit like his Dad, he has an interest in the recent past. Apple don’t fall far from the tree…
What a *great* photo! If she had any idea of how big a Beatles and John fan you are, she would be taking *your* picture, Max. Bailey was on it here, knowing about the exhibit and talking you into going to it with him.
I know! I knew nothing about it. He was on point about this. It was exciting and I wish I could find that picture of George she has…I’ve never seen it before…it was great.
Is it in the book she is promoting?
All except that one! That is why I didn’t understand the no photo rule by the gallery… email.
p.s. I’d like to know what Bailey asked May and how she responded. Would Bailey share that info with you and you share it with us??
Bailey told her how much she loved her book and it inspired him in taking photos…he also asked her if she was going to exhibit her other work…she said no and laughed a little…she said it was so complicated lining everything up. She was totally nice and friendly. She has been around with this and she did look tired.

Yes I am…thanks Matt…she seemed to enjoy talking to him Matt…I think it’s because he was the only younger one in there at that time.

Wow, this all sounds pretty cool to me! It’s nice May Pang talked to your son who btw is a lovely looking young man! Other than the fact she had an affair with John that was encouraged/sanctioned by Yoko, which from the outside looks unusual to say the least, I don’t know the details. I should probably watch that documentary. One can only imagine what it must have been like for a 23-year-old girl to go out with Lennon and meet all his other music artist friends.

Same big smile, same dark seventies-style hair. My first thought was “that guy looks like Donny Osmond” before i knew who it was:)
I won’t tell him this….for his own good.
Well, it could be worse. My wife discovered in doing her genealogy that she is (very) remotely related to the actual Osmond family. So, by marriage, so am I:)
Oh geez! Well, all joking aside…I have heard they are a nice family anyway. One of the few who didn’t go bonkers during their stardom.
