Happy New Year!

The list below has grown so much since I started doing this a few years ago. If I missed you…please forgive me. But Happy New Year 2026. I add new readers to this list every single year and like I said…I hope I got you all. This year, I didn’t add as much because I had to cut down on my blogging from every day to just weekends and Fridays mostly.

I want to thank everyone who has read my blog this year and the last few years. I ran this post last year, and I’ve added more names. It’s so much fun communicating with all of you. I’ve been told my blog is a place people come to comment, like sitting around a campfire. That is the way I hope it is. I’m not a real writer, so I just write as if I’m talking to you in a room. I hope many of you find other bloggers at my place with things in common.

In 2017, I would not have believed I would communicate with people in different states across America and the world…such as New Zealand, The UK, Hong Kong, Germany, Colombia, Australia, India, France, Sweden, Spain, and more! I’m also learning more about new music, old new music, cool old and new movies, and most of all…people. I comment way too much at times, but it’s a lot of fun learning.

I’ve commented with you all, emailed many of you, talked to some over the phone, and met one of you. Thank you all once again. These are in no particular order. I usually keep them around the same place and just add some more commentary to a few.

  1. Our conversations about Casablanca, other films, and music were a great pleasure for me. I’ve also expanded my musical repertoire thanks to you. Thank you for what you do.
Let’s stay in touch in 26, et bonne année !

    1. We sure will stay in touch this year. My son is coming back tonight from Germany so I’ll be watching even more movies. After I told him about Casablanca…he was so dissappointed that I had never seen it…he made sure I did before he left. I do appreciate your wonderful reviews…and a Happy New Year to you!

PS so glad you liked Daniel Johnston!

  2. I thank you, Max. This is a great place. I looked at the list and marvelled at the names I knew and how each one generated specific thoughts to me. I love the way you did this because for those names I don’t know, I can click on a link and find out more.

I can honestly say that this blog, and the people who are a part of this community, have widened my outlooks and enjoyment.

By the way, there are a few you missed. I don’t mention this to hassle you. There are people I see who like comments but I don’t remember seeing them post. I am real curious as to learn more about these people because what they do like or don’t comment on is as much a profile as your sketches of the known.

And I especially thank the regulars for their contributions. I am honestly in awe of some of you, and that’s saying a lot. I think the favorite stuff that I’ve read this year has come from either this blog or people/blogs I learned about from this blog. One example, and I don’t mean to lessen any of you other great people, is Phil. When his father and his involvement in the Light Crust Doughboys was mentioned my eyes and interest perked up as I’ve been a fan (thank you Dr. Demento) for years. But then I read some of the tales, taller than Paul Bunyan can reach, on his blog and, well, I’m amazed.

Happy New Year to all of you. And thank you, every one of you.

    1. Thanks so much for dropping by. I forgot to ask you how you found me? Was I linked off of someone else? I so apprecitate your contributions because I think the comments are more important than the post really.

Thats the problem about doing this every year…there is always someone I missed. Now remember…sometimes I go by their real name and not their blog site name.
Like Phil, Stewart, Dave, Deke, and others.

Happy New Year to you and your family!

  3. Thank you for the incredible shout out, Max! Music is a global phenomenon; it is one of the rare things that brings people of all walks of life together. When there’s music playing, everything seems right with the world. Happy New Year to you and your family. Here’s wishing you every good thing in 2026. 1. Speaking of Beatles or Kinks week…I do want to have another this year. I learn more from all of you than I do me…that is why the comments are the most important part to me….all I do is the spark and all of you do the rest and I appreciate it. I guess it takes all of us…Happy New Year to you and your family!

  4. Thank you so much for your kind acknowledgement. I do ramble at times, but things that are brought up set my stream-of-consciosness in motion, and I am off on a tangent. I am looking forward to much more commenting in the next year. The best of New Years to you, your family, and all those who comment here.

      1. Yes…Rudy is reluctantly slimming down but it’s not going fast. Rocky is doing well and seems to like Jennifer more than anyone else…for her to even pick up a lizard before we got him was unthinkable… but she has grown to love him…he lets her pick him up with no problem…Martha is a cyclone….never had a Saint this active but she is in good shape. Sorry…see….I can be really longwinded lol.

  5. Thanks for including me in what is a truly impressive list of fellow bloggers. I think your post also perfectly illustrates what to me is the essential aspect when it comes to blogging. It’s not the number of views, visitors or likes, but the level of meaningful engagement in the form of online discussion via comments.

I know I’ve said this before, but I feel it’s worthwhile reiterating. It’s dear fellow bloggers like you who have introduced me to a ton of music that was all or nearly all new to me and who thus have helped broaden my musical horizon – thanks again!

Happy New and Healthy New Year to you and your family! 🙂
