I found the short video while looking around and thought I would post it. The drummers include Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Stewart Copeland, Questlove, Tre Cool, Max Weinberg, and Chad Smith.
In the span of just three minutes, we get a sense of exactly why the most famous drummers in rock and roll admire Ringo.
Another video I found is of a drummer explaining how Ringo played for the song and not to be recognized in the song.

I recall an interview with Alex Van Halen years ago and they asked him who his favourite drummer was.
Alex said Ringo not for his drumming but for the fact he could score women! Lol

LOL…yep he married a Bond girl! He was a good drummer though…he drummed for the song. You put any other drummer in the Beatles like Bonham or Moon…it would be a mess.

Neat! When they recruited him, he was already a well-established drummer. I think he gets often overlooked because of the talent up front in the Beatles and because he wrote some goofy songs, octopus gardens and the like, so wasn’t taken seriously. But he was a talented guy . Never thought about how being left-handed would alter drumming, but I guess it makes sense …except wouldn’t they just reverse the setup of the kit?

He used those tom toms like no one else. Songs like a A Day In The Life and Rain…the biggest thing I got out of it was he played for the song….if Bonham or Moon would drummed…it would have been too busy.

With all of the talent in the Beatles, it is easy to see how Ringo was overlooked, but he was the man.

He was probably the best drummer in Liverpool at the beginning so yea…he gets overlooked.

In the bands I’ve been in…that is my common saying…I want a drummer like Ringo…not one that will put jazz parts in places where they should be…

I enjoyed both videos very much. Serving the song is a good thing to remember for musicians but also for listening. Ringo was stacked in the band against 3 superegos. Good thing he was there to balance them out.

This was really neat. I’m not a drummer, so there’s much that goes over my head. But I love Ringo and am glad to see him getting these accolades.

Yea he gets passed over too much…he doesn’t play for people to think “listen to me” he plays for what the song calls for.
