I’ve always liked the lyrics to this song and the overall sound of it. I liked all of the singles released off of their one and only album Boomtown. Welcome to the Boomtown, It Aint So Easy, and Swallowed by the Cracks. I was really looking forward to the follow-up album which never came.
Welcome to the Boomtown peaked at #37 in the Billboard 100 in 1986. Per Wikipedia, the two are planning to make a follow-up album. Over 30 years later…but better late than never.

Another great song- I saw the video on MTV and went out and bought the album- very good- Falling Through The Cracks was another great song on the album. Too bad they didn’t stay together. I know one of the David’s ended up writing one of Sheryl Crow’s early hits…

Wow, would that album now be considered somewhat of a lost classic? I had those songs on mix tapes my brother made for me.

Pretty good song! Some reason it popped into my head several months ago and I went to youtube and gave it a listen– somehow wasn’t quite what I remembered but was still a good lost 80s classic!

I usually don’t like keyboard songs…electronic songs but this one fits the times perfectly and his voice anchored it.
