Top 10 Favorite TV Themes 1-5

Some TV Themes can be annoying but many can be very catchy. I’m listing my top 10 on two posts. There are so many that narrowing it to ten was almost impossible. I’ve stuck with older ones for the post. I left out cartoons…

5. The Courtship of Eddie’s Father -Harry  Nilsson sang this one staring the one and only Bill Bixby.

 

4. It’s Garry Shandling’s Show – The most brilliant theme…straight to the point.

3. Munsters – Cool sixties guitar driven theme.

 

2. Welcome Back Kotter – John Sebastian’s song Welcome Back peaked at #1 in 1976.

 

1. Monkees – Whenever I hear it I’m 5 again.

  1. Cool list! Who was it that did Garry shandling’s… Randy Newman? there were a lot of good ones in the 60s and 70s… “Happy Days” and “All in the Family” also come to mind. Too bad today’s fast-paced life and shortened programs have all but eliminated them from current TV shows.

  3. The first two, “Courtship…” & “Shandling…”, I’d never heard, before.

    The Munsters… When I see Herman, I see the judge in “My Cousin Vinny” (what is a ‘yout’). When I see Lily, I see the woman G. W. McLintock hired to cook for him (and the drunken staircase scene).

    And, we just lost another Monkee, yesterday.

    1. I love My Cousin Vinny…and I think of Pet Sematary also.
      The Shandling theme was my most modern theme…from the 80s lol.
      I know…it sucks about Peter…I’m posting one of his Monkee songs tomorrow…”For Pete’s Sake”… It’s sad to see all of these people go. The musicians I like were all from the generation before me.

  5. WOW! Courtship of Eddie’s Father! Forgot that theme!

    Garry Shandling – hard to listen to it and not laugh! One of my favorites! Crazy!

    The Munters – Man, that guitar is awesome! Fall Out Boy sampled it recently in a song about Uma Thurman.

    Kotter – John Sebastian. One of my top ten, as well. Just a great song!

    Monkees – don’t recall if I mentioned it on my list, but I should have! It really is a great theme and timely with the passing of Peter Tork.

    Almost wish you’d have gone Top 20! LOL

    1. I know I thought about 20 and I had cartoon themes but I didn’t include them… I wanted to because Scooby Doo would be near the top.

      2. Well I jumped the gun…you don’t have a reblog button option on yours. Someone reblogged an early Monkees post of mine Thursday and it brought more traffic over because my blog appeared on their blog…
        It’s an option in the settings if you want it. If you decide to have that one day just tell me and I’d be honored to reblog that post… your posts have detail…they are really good. I have only reblogged one blog ever…and it help them get a little traffic.

        I know what you mean. It’s nice to know there are other people out there with some of the same taste…and I can talk cartoons with lol.

      10. lol… I should be able to do it tomorrow. The first part will show up in my blog with a note I’ll write and then it will say “click here to see the full post” and it should take them to you…hopefully it will get you some traffic.
        Someone reblogged me in August and that helped my traffic…sometimes it does sometimes it doesnt. I appreciate you working with me….still can’t believe I didn’t see that.

      12. I hope it helps you get more traffic…It’s hard getting people to look… I went from September 2017 to around May 2018 without any followers and 3 likes total…then slowly I started to get noticed. No problem…I think people will like the post.
