A country rock song by Eric Clapton that’s always been a favorite of mine. It was released in 1978 and peaked at #9 in the Billboard 100, #82 in the Country Charts, #37 in the UK and #7 in Canada. This song was from his album “Backless” at a time when Eric was influenced by Don Williams the country artist.
The female singer on “Promises” is Marcy Levy.
